A New Competitive Era for Villains
Villains: Robot Battle Royale has officially entered its ranked-mode era with the launch of the Super Villain Championship, the most competitive feature the game has introduced so far. If you’ve been waiting for a skill-based mode that rewards sharp instincts, quick reactions, and strategic evolution, this update is exactly what the MARBLEX-powered title needed.
This new ladder format is designed as a solo-only battlefield where only Super Villains can compete. The stakes? Seasonal prestige, leaderboard domination, and, of course, Night Stones—the game’s newest and most valuable in-app currency.
And if you're exploring more titles within Web3, don’t forget to check out other blockchain games in the ecosystem.
How the Super Villain Championship Works
The Championship runs on a 3-week seasonal structure—two weeks of action followed by one week of rest. That cooldown period gives players time to evaluate builds, evolve characters, and prepare for the next push.
Every match contributes to a player's ladder ranking, and only the top 30 competitors at the end of the season receive Night Stones as rewards. It’s a straightforward system: climb high, win more.
Here’s the reward breakdown per season:
1st Place: 28,500 Night Stones
2nd–3rd: 12,000 Night Stones
4th–10th: 3,000 Night Stones
11th–30th: 750 Night Stones
Considering Night Stones directly translate into upgrade power through Night Stone Boxes, placing well offers a major competitive advantage.
Unlocking Super Villains — Your Ticket to Ranked Play
Access to the Championship isn’t free-for-all. To compete, players must unlock a Super Villain, an upgraded version of a standard character that becomes an NFT through a special awakening process.
Here’s the progression path:
Reach Level 20 with any villain
Awaken the character with Diamonds or Hell Points
Connect an Immutable Passport account to mint the villain as an NFT
Upon awakening, the character receives one of four random grades:
Rare (65%)
Epic (25%)
Legendary (8.5%)
Mythic (1.5%)
Not only do these grades change the character’s appearance, but they also determine its base Power Stone values—critical for climbing the competitive ladder.
Higher grades can be reached through combination mechanics:
3 Rares → 1 Epic
3 Epics → 1 Legendary
3 Legendaries → 1 Mythic
Mythic villains get exclusive access to fusion and rebirth, two reroll systems that allow stat reshuffling and further optimization. Both require resources, but the payoff can be massive for players aiming for top-tier builds.
Night Stones and How to Earn Them
Night Stones were introduced on December 10 as a new major currency within the Villains ecosystem. They’re primarily earned through:
1. Placing in the Super Villain Championship
Perform well, earn rewards—simple.
2. Using the gMBX Exchange System
For players holding MBX on Immutable, there’s a direct path to Night Stones using MARBLEX’s currency tools:
Swap MBX → gMBX via the MBX Swap system
Exchange gMBX → Night Stones at MBX Station
All swaps use a 1:1 ratio
There are a few limits to keep things balanced:
Daily max volume: 10,000 gMBX
Per-user max: 1,000 gMBX
Minimum trade: 0.1 gMBX
Max trades per day: 20
Trading from gMBX into Night Stones has no fee, while trading the opposite direction applies a 15% cost.
Night Stones can be spent on Night Stone Boxes, which guarantee Power Shots—the core material for upgrading characters and improving your competitive edge.
The Gameplay Behind the Competition
The launch of the Super Villain Championship comes just two weeks after the global release of Villains: Robot Battle Royale on November 26. Available on both Android and iOS and built by Birdletter Inc., the game introduces fast, intense, four-minute matches filled with close-quarters combat.
Players choose from outlaw-themed characters and battle inside robotic suits on Helcatraz, a chaotic prison planet. Standard matchmaking includes both solo and duo modes, while ranked content currently remains solo-only.
Super Villains were introduced alongside the launch patch and serve as the gateway for blockchain-powered progression—including NFT-based trading and deeper character growth systems.
Powered by MARBLEX and Supported by Microsoft
Villains operates within the MARBLEX ecosystem, which powers other titles like A3: Still Alive, Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, and Meta Toy DragonZ Saga. MARBLEX brings:
Cross-chain swaps
Integrated currency management
In-game token utilities
Leaderboard and event systems
Earlier this year, MARBLEX also entered a strategic collaboration with Microsoft—support that may influence backend tooling, scaling solutions, or performance enhancements across its partnered blockchain games.
Looking Ahead — Duo and Squad Ranked Modes on the Horizon
Right now, the spotlight is fully on the Super Villain Championship and the Night Stone economy. The developers have confirmed that Duo and Squad ranked modes are planned for future seasons, though no specific release dates have been shared.
In the meantime:
Super Villains remain the only entry ticket
Seasonal cycles repeat every 3 weeks
Night Stones fuel the upgrade ecosystem
Top 30 players walk away with the biggest rewards
If you're planning to climb the leaderboard, now is the perfect time to awaken your villains, evolve duplicates, and prep your strongest builds.
