If you’ve ever wanted to turn your farming skills and strategic thinking into real rewards, then Pixels Chapter 3: Bountyfall might be the update you’ve been waiting for. This new season brings competition, collaboration, and the chance to play to earn $PIXEL tokens — all while working with your Union to restore balance to the world of Terra Villa.
Whether you’re new to the world of blockchain games or a returning player from previous chapters, this latest evolution of Pixels is an exciting reason to jump in.
What Is Pixels?
Pixels is a free-to-play social farming MMO built on the Ronin blockchain — the same network that powers popular titles like Axie Infinity. It’s a unique mix of cozy farming simulation and web3 mechanics, where players grow crops, craft goods, trade with others, and participate in live events — all while earning on-chain rewards.
The beauty of Pixels lies in its accessibility. You can play right in your browser without needing a crypto wallet, but for those who love the blockchain side of things, there’s a full suite of on-chain tools, including the ability to stake $PIXEL tokens for rewards or use them across partner titles like Sleepagotchi LITE, Pixel Dungeons, and Forgotten Runiverse.
Earlier this year, Pixels surpassed 100 million $PIXEL tokens staked, proving just how strong and engaged its community has become. And with Chapter 3: Bountyfall now live, that community is about to face its most competitive challenge yet.
The Story Behind Chapter 3: Bountyfall
After spending nearly a year in Chapter 2 and its extended 2.5 phase, Pixels has officially entered a new era. Chapter 3 — Bountyfall — introduces a Union-based system, where players align with one of three powerful factions competing for dominance and rewards.
The three Unions each represent a philosophy on how to heal the land of Terra Villa:
Wildgroves – Advocates of untamed growth and natural restoration, wielding the Verdant Yieldstone.
Seedwrights – Believers in order and cultivation, represented by the Flint Yieldstone.
Reapers – Masters of balance between life and death, tied to the Hollow Yieldstone.
Once you choose your Union, you’ll enter the Hearth Hall, the new seasonal battleground where all the magic — and sabotage — happens.
How the Hearth System Works
At the heart of Bountyfall lies (literally) your Union’s Hearth, a symbol of your collective strength. Each Hearth has a progress bar that fills as players deposit Yieldstones. The first Union to reach 100% Hearth Health wins the season — and the lion’s share of the prize pool.
Here’s how the rewards break down:
🥇 1st Place Union – 70% of the total $PIXEL rewards pool
🥈 2nd Place Union – 30% of the pool
🥉 3rd Place Union – Receives starter Yieldstones for the next season
The maximum prize pool for the first Bountyfall season is 50,000 $PIXEL, determined by how active the community is throughout the event. The more you and your Union contribute, the bigger the rewards.

Yieldstones: Power, Sabotage, and Strategy
Yieldstones are the star of Chapter 3. These glowing crystals are the essence of your Union’s progress — or your rival’s downfall.
There are three types of Yieldstones:
🌿 Verdant Yieldstones – for Wildgroves
🔥 Flint Yieldstones – for Seedwrights
💀 Hollow Yieldstones – for Reapers
Yieldstones come in five tiers, with higher tiers offering stronger effects. Players can deposit them into their Union’s Hearth to boost progress — or into an enemy’s Hearth to sabotage it.
To obtain them, you’ll complete in-game tasks, craft at the new Yieldstone Press, or earn them through farming, mining, cooking, and exploration. For NFT landowners, the Yieldstone Press adds extra depth, allowing for up to four presses on large lands and generating valuable Discoverability Points and resources.
Defend, Attack, and Evolve Your Hearth
Bountyfall isn’t just about farming — it’s about strategy and teamwork. Rival Unions can sabotage each other by dropping Yieldstones into enemy Hearths, draining their health.
To fight back, players can buy Offerings from the Chamber Shop. These time-limited objectives require group effort to complete.
Power Offerings boost your Hearth’s health.
Defense Offerings protect against sabotage.
Fail to meet the Offering goal before the timer expires, and your Hearth risks losing a level — a major setback in the race to 100%.
If you ever feel like switching sides, you can use the Harvest Union Changer. It costs 50 $PIXEL per switch and comes with a 48-hour cooldown, letting you realign your loyalty as the season unfolds.
Playing to Earn $PIXEL in Bountyfall
At its core, Chapter 3’s play-to-earn model is community-driven. Your participation determines your rewards — the more active and strategic you are, the greater your share of the prize pool.
Every season, the pool can reach up to 50,000 $PIXEL, and rewards are divided based on Union performance and individual contribution. Players earn points through:
Depositing Yieldstones
Crafting Reactors
Completing daily or seasonal tasks
Performing sabotage actions
Each Union also has its own leaderboard, meaning even if your side doesn’t win overall, your personal efforts could still earn you something special. The top-performing player each season is also promised a mystery reward, adding extra incentive to stay active.
