Parallel TCG Deception Expansion Set Launches This September

Parallel TCG

Parallel TCG and Its Growing Universe

Parallel TCG has quickly become one of the most talked-about blockchain games thanks to its fusion of free-to-play accessibility and web3-powered earning mechanics. At its core, it’s a competitive sci-fi trading card game (TCG) where players face off in strategic 1v1 battles. Unlike many blockchain-based titles, you don’t need a crypto wallet to start playing—the base game is open to anyone.

For those curious about the blockchain side, Parallel TCG integrates NFT cards and an ERC-20 token called $PRIME, which players can earn through ranked gameplay and use to buy cosmetics, cards, and even tournament tickets. It’s a seamless blend of traditional gaming fun with meaningful web3 opportunities.

A Brief Look Back at Parallel TCG’s Journey

Parallel Studios began working on this ambitious project over four years ago, securing $50 million in funding in 2021. Development milestones rolled out steadily:

  • Feb 2023: Closed alpha testing

  • July 2023: Closed beta release

  • Oct 2023: First expansion, Planetfall

  • Nov 2023: Epic Games Store approval

  • June 2024: Official Epic Store launch

  • Nov 2024: Second expansion, Aftermath

In February 2024, the game entered open beta, allowing players worldwide to experience its evolving card battles. Now, nearly a year later, the third expansion—Deception—is about to make its debut.

What Is the Deception Expansion?

Deception is the third expansion for Parallel TCG, bringing over 90 new playable cards to the battlefield. Just like previous expansions, these new cards are designed to deepen gameplay and give players new strategies to explore. Expect deck experiments, shifting metas, and creative plays as the new set rolls out.

Perhaps the most exciting news for the community is that half of the Collector Packs will be allocated for free. This move reflects Parallel’s appreciation for its loyal player base, rewarding those who have supported the project since its early days in 2021.

When Will Deception Launch?

Parallel Studios has confirmed that Deception will launch at the end of September, although an exact date for NFT card pack sales hasn’t been revealed yet.

Based on past expansions, card packs will likely be sold on the Base network, purchasable with $PRIME tokens. For reference, the Aftermath expansion packs were priced at 11 $PRIME each, and every pack included 10 assets, ranging from cards to cosmetic bonuses. A total of 46,000 packs were made available during that drop, so fans can expect a similar scale this time around.

As always, keep an eye on Parallel’s official channels for announcements about sales, pricing, and supply.

Parallel TCG Season 19: Silent Foundations

While waiting for Deception, players can dive into Season 19: Silent Foundations, which launched on September 4. This season introduces:

  • 1 new card: Korrin, Cryptic Architect

  • 2 new achievements: Factory Reset Required and Cryptech

  • 1 exclusive card back: Bounty Profile: Architect

  • 1 card frame: Architect’s Design

These rewards are locked behind the Battle Pass, which has both free and premium tiers. The premium pass is key for those who want to earn $PRIME tokens while playing ranked matches with NFT decks. Battle Passes are purchased with Glints, a currency obtainable both in-game and via the web shop.

Notably, starting this season, buying the Battle Pass is required to earn $PRIME from ranked matches. To balance this change, the studio has increased token rewards for competitive play.

Play and Earn in Parallel TCG

To maximize your rewards, you’ll need a 40-card deck that includes NFT cards. The more NFT cards your deck contains, the higher your $PRIME earning potential in ranked matches. Starter decks and individual NFTs are available in the game’s web shop, while marketplaces like OpenSea offer secondary trading opportunities.

With its “win-to-earn” model, Parallel TCG has carved out a niche between traditional collectible card games like Hearthstone and fully blockchain-native titles like Gods Unchained. Players can enjoy casual fun for free or dive into the competitive earning ecosystem.

The Future of Parallel TCG

Parallel Studios has proven that it’s committed to steadily expanding the game’s world and rewarding its community. With Deception on the horizon, Season 19 in full swing, and mobile development moving forward after a soft launch in the Philippines, the future looks bright.

If you’re curious about the evolving landscape of blockchain games, Parallel TCG is one of the most polished and ambitious projects to watch—and play.
