A New Event for Moonfrost Players
The Hibiscus Hunt is here, giving Moonfrost fans a fresh way to enjoy the game while competing for exciting rewards. Running from October 1 to October 14, 12 PM UTC, this limited-time leaderboard event challenges players to collect as many Hibiscus Flowers as possible. The top 100 participants can earn valuable prizes, ranging from FROST Workbenches and Gacha Tokens to Liquid Luck and unique Hibiscus-themed cosmetics.
Whether you’re a newcomer curious about cozy blockchain-enhanced farming or a veteran of Moonfrost’s Early Access, this event offers something for everyone. Let’s explore what makes the Hibiscus Hunt worth your time.
What Is Moonfrost?
Moonfrost is a free-to-play farming RPG that mixes story-driven, cozy gameplay with resource management and homebuilding. Players can plant crops, fish, mine ores, craft items, and decorate homes while enjoying its beautiful isometric 2D world.
Since entering Early Access on July 16 via the Open Loot Launcher, the game has introduced a wealth of new features:
Fishing and cooking systems
Village rebuilding mechanics
A brand-new map to explore
A new playable character
Order fulfillment through the in-game economy
While currently gated behind the Gnome Key or a Frost Hunter License NFT, Moonfrost is preparing for a wider release on the Epic Games Store, and later, on mobile. Importantly, the game is web2-friendly, meaning you don’t need blockchain knowledge to enjoy the farming RPG experience.
Moonfrost’s Web3 Features
Beyond cozy gameplay, Moonfrost includes an optional blockchain layer powered by Open Loot. In September, web3 features went live, enabling players to use premium assets to earn CRYO, an in-game off-chain currency that will eventually be replaced by the $FROST token.
These mechanics add a play-to-earn element for those who want to combine leisure gaming with blockchain rewards. Once the token generation event (TGE) takes place, possibly in late 2025, the economy will fully activate. Until then, CRYO allows players to redeem prizes and experiment with the game’s evolving blockchain ecosystem.
What Is the Hibiscus Hunt?
The Hibiscus Hunt is a leaderboard competition where the goal is simple: collect Hibiscus Flowers before the event ends on October 14.
Rewards are tiered based on ranking:
Top 5: Legendary FROST Workbench and Luck Charms
Top 100: Hibiscus Gnomes, Liquid Luck, Gacha Tokens, and more
It’s a farming-focused event that encourages efficient planning and strategy. Flowers are mainly obtained through planting seeds, collecting from Gnomes, and using FROST Tools.
How to Join the Hibiscus Hunt
To participate, open your in-game phone, click on the Leaderboard button, and hit “Participate.” Once registered, you can start collecting Hibiscus Flowers using one of three methods:
Planting Hibiscus Seeds
Buy seeds from your farm’s Vending Machine using Event Vouchers.
Event Vouchers can be earned by:
Completing Special FHA Requests
Trading with players
Buying them with CRYO
There are five seed types, each with unique costs and growth times:
Red: 1 Voucher, 30 minutes
Rose: 2 Vouchers, 1.5 hours
Violet: 3 Vouchers, 3.5 hours
White: 4 Vouchers, 8 hours
Yellow: 5 Vouchers, 12 hours
The longer the growth time, the higher the flower yield, making it important to balance time efficiency with output.
Collecting from Gnomes
Free-to-play players can craft up to six in-game Gnomes, which produce 1 flower every 8–12 hours.
NFT Gnomes provide more flowers every 24 hours, offering an edge to blockchain participants.
Pro tip: Don’t move your Gnomes once placed, or their cooldown resets.
Using FROST Tools
These tools occasionally generate Hibiscus Flowers during regular resource gathering.
While not the most reliable method for this event, they’re essential for earning CRYO and future $FROST tokens.
Tips to Maximize Your Chances
If you’re aiming for the leaderboard, here are some strategies to keep in mind:
Time Management: Plant longer-growth Hibiscus Seeds overnight or when you’re offline.
Diversify Your Methods: Combine seed planting with Gnome collection for steady gains.
Use Blockchain Assets: NFT Gnomes and premium tools give you an advantage, but aren’t mandatory.
Stay Consistent: Log in regularly to harvest crops and collect from Gnomes before cooldowns reset.
Why the Hibiscus Hunt Matters
Events like the Hibiscus Hunt demonstrate how blockchain games can merge casual fun with competitive mechanics. Moonfrost isn’t just about farming and cozy exploration—it’s about player-driven progression, community engagement, and experimenting with the possibilities of web3 integration.
For free-to-play participants, it’s a chance to enjoy a themed challenge and earn cosmetic rewards. For blockchain enthusiasts, it’s an opportunity to leverage assets in pursuit of leaderboard glory. Either way, the Hibiscus Hunt is a perfect example of how Moonfrost balances web2 accessibility with web3 innovation.
