Gods Unchained

Gods Unchained is getting ready for its next major expansion, Reckoning, launching on October 13, 2026. The new set brings 87 packable cards, new Legendary variants, a collectible NFT pack system, and a storyline centered on a massive conflict between the game's six domains.

For players who enjoy digital card games and the ownership mechanics found in blockchain games, Reckoning offers plenty to explore. Here's what to know before the packs go on sale.

Reckoning Brings 87 New Cards

Reckoning introduces 87 new packable cards, covering all six Gods Unchained domains plus Neutral cards. The expansion's story revolves around an ancient threat and a war involving every domain.

Each of the six domains — Death, Deception, Light, Magic, Nature, and War — receives 12 cards:

  • 4 Commons

  • 3 Rares

  • 3 Epics

  • 2 Legendaries

Neutral receives a larger selection of 15 cards:

  • 3 Commons

  • 3 Rares

  • 3 Epics

  • 6 Legendaries

That creates a complete set distribution of 27 Commons, 21 Rares, 21 Epics, and 18 Legendaries.

Interestingly, Reckoning does not include any Mythic cards in its packable pool. The distribution also keeps the six domains relatively balanced while giving Neutral a larger selection of powerful Legendary cards.

Four Reckoning Pack Tiers

Reckoning packs will be available for four weeks, from October 13 through November 10. There are four different tiers, and every pack contains six cards.

Booster — $1.99

The entry-level Booster is aimed at players who want to pick up the expansion without spending much. It primarily features Commons but can also contain Rare or higher-rarity cards.

Premium — $19.99

Premium packs step up the rewards considerably. Each one guarantees both an Epic and a Legendary, making them particularly interesting for players looking to build competitive collections.

Shiny — $199.99

The Shiny pack is designed for collectors. It contains only Epics and Legendaries, with cards appearing at higher shine levels.

Mega Shiny — $249.99

At the top of the lineup is the Mega Shiny pack. Like the Shiny tier, it contains only Epics and Legendaries, but it also guarantees a high-shine Legendary.

Sealed Packs Become Tradable NFTs

One of the biggest changes with Reckoning is that the packs themselves are NFTs.

Rather than immediately opening a pack, players can hold the sealed NFT, trade it, or sell it. This introduces another layer to the expansion's collecting economy.

Collectors could, for example, purchase sealed packs and keep them unopened, while other players may decide to trade them before revealing their contents. It gives Reckoning packs value beyond simply being containers for cards.

For a blockchain card game, this is an especially interesting addition because ownership applies not only to the cards inside the pack but also to the unopened product itself.

Twelve Alternate Art Legendaries

Reckoning also introduces 12 alternate-art Legendary variants, distributed across different parts of the expansion.

Several can be found directly in packs:

  • Booster: Harald Until Death, Rear Admiral Thibbs, Divya No Longer

  • Premium: The Bishop, The Swollen Terror

  • Shiny: Vesper Relentless Adjudicator, The Amorphous Mass, Ella Combat Painter

  • Mega Shiny: What Glorious Fortune

Other variants are connected to gameplay and special rewards rather than regular pack openings.

The Thirsting Syphon variant comes from Whale Battle Packs, while Psychic Quake requires seven wins in Sealed Mode. The Colorless Shape is tied to five wins in Conquest.

Meanwhile, Battle Pass 19 includes Commons from the Reckoning set, giving players additional ways to interact with the expansion.

Squeaklings Return With New Promotions

The Squeaklings collection is also returning as part of Reckoning.

Six promotional cards, representing one character each, will appear in Premium, Shiny, and Mega Shiny packs through the end of 2026. There is also a new packable Legendary promo that can appear across all four pack tiers.

That gives collectors another reason to keep an eye on the different Reckoning products rather than treating every pack as identical.

Divine Tithings Offers Up to 35% Off

Long-time Gods Unchained players can also take advantage of the returning Divine Tithings system.

Players can burn eligible existing cards to accumulate points toward a discount of up to 35% on one pack purchase. The discount system cannot combine different pack types in a single transaction.

The mechanic gives players an alternative use for cards they no longer need. Instead of simply leaving unwanted cards in their collection, they can potentially convert them into a discount on new Reckoning packs while also reducing older card supply.

Where Reckoning Fits Into Gods Unchained

Gods Unchained is a free-to-play digital trading card game built on Immutable, an Ethereum Layer 2 focused on gaming. Players create decks around six Gods, with each domain offering different mechanics and playstyles.

The game features Ranked, Sealed, and Conquest modes, while cards exist as tradeable NFTs. This means players can own their digital collections and trade individual cards rather than having their collections locked entirely inside the game.

The ecosystem also uses GODS, the game's token, which has a capped supply of 500 million. GODS can be earned through gameplay and Battle Pass progression and has been used alongside assets such as ETH, IMX, and USDC for purchases.

Reckoning Is a Major Step Up in Size

Reckoning follows Roots of Ruin, which launched on February 17, 2026, with 44 cards. That expansion introduced the Everborn, a Neutral tribe designed to work with hybrid decks across different Gods.

With 87 cards, Reckoning is more than twice the size of Roots of Ruin. Its broader card pool, multiple pack tiers, alternate-art Legendaries, and tradable sealed packs make it a substantial addition to the game's growing collection.

The combination of new gameplay content and blockchain-based ownership also makes this expansion particularly notable for collectors.

When Can You Buy Reckoning Packs?

The Reckoning expansion officially launches on October 13, 2026, with pack sales continuing until November 10.

With prices ranging from $1.99 to $249.99, the expansion covers a wide spectrum of players, from casual collectors looking for a few new cards to dedicated collectors interested in high-shine Legendaries and sealed NFT packs.

Whether players are chasing new deck-building options, alternate-art collectibles, or simply want to experience the next chapter of the Gods Unchained story, Reckoning is set to bring one of the game's larger card releases of 2026.
