Gigaverse Awakening Returns With $30K

Gigaverse The Awakening

Gigaverse has brought The Awakening back online after fixing a bug, and the restart comes with a significant upgrade for players. The event returned on August 12, 2026, with its seeded prize pool increased from $20,000 to $30,000.

That extra $10,000 is more than a simple bonus. It effectively compensates players for the disruption while giving the restarted competition a much stronger starting point. For anyone interested in blockchain games, The Awakening also offers a fascinating look at how Web3 games can connect live events, digital assets, and community-driven economies.

The Awakening Is Live Again

The basic premise has not changed. Players are competing to collect Hard Cores, with their final collection totals determining their share of the prize pool when the event concludes.

There is also another reward for the most successful collectors: a permanent place in the Hall of Noobs.

The restart means that everyone begins the collection race again. Progress made during the first two days no longer provides a competitive advantage, creating a completely fresh leaderboard.

For players who missed the original launch, that is particularly important. Instead of entering two days behind the early participants, everyone now starts from the same position.

The Prize Pool Can Grow Much Higher

The $30,000 seed is only the beginning.

Gigaverse has designed The Awakening so that the prize pool continues growing as players interact with the game's economy. Specifically:

  • 50% of juice purchases go into the prize pool.

  • 50% of Gigamarket fees generated during the event are also added.

  • The initial $30,000 seed provides the guaranteed starting point.

  • More player activity can therefore push the final prize substantially higher.

This creates an interesting feedback loop. More players can mean more activity, more juice purchases and more marketplace transactions, which can ultimately mean a larger reward for participants.

The studio has not yet announced a revised end date following the restart, so players will need to keep an eye on official Gigaverse communications for further details.

Why The Restart Matters

At first glance, restarting a collection event might sound like a relatively minor technical decision. In Gigaverse, however, The Awakening has a much bigger role.

The event is positioned as a transition point ahead of Gigaverse Online, the upcoming open-world social RPG that will eventually replace the current browser-based dungeon experience.

That makes the assets earned during The Awakening particularly important. Items, Cores, Medals and other ecosystem assets are expected to have relevance beyond the current game structure, either through crafting or direct use in the new experience.

The team has also been developing a new seasonal economy designed to make Gigaverse more sustainable and attractive to players outside the traditional crypto audience.

In that context, losing two days of competition was more significant than it would have been during an ordinary seasonal event. Restarting the race and adding another $10,000 to the prize pool gives players a meaningful reason to return.

What Makes Gigaverse Different?

Gigaverse is a free-to-play browser RPG and strategy game built on Abstract, meaning players can jump into the experience without downloading a traditional game client.

Its combat system is built around an expanded rock-paper-scissors mechanic:

  • Sword beats Spell

  • Shield beats Sword

  • Spell beats Shield

Each ability combines attack power, armor and limited charges that recharge over time.

A new character begins with 12 HP and 2 Armor. Sword provides four attack, Shield provides four armor, while Spell delivers two attack and two armor.

That simplicity gives new players an approachable starting point while allowing progression to add more strategic depth.

Dungeon Runs Are Designed to Be Tough

Gigaverse does not make dungeon progression particularly forgiving.

Every run begins on Floor 1, with no checkpoints and no skipping. Players continue until their HP reaches zero.

Defeating enemies produces valuable resources, including Dungeon Scraps, which function as XP for stat upgrades. Players can also discover steel pipes, dust, equipment and cosmetics.

Cosmetics are purely visual, while the other resources contribute to crafting and progression systems.

Energy provides another limitation. Players receive roughly 240 energy per day, which translates to around six dungeon runs depending on the selected run type. Newer players can use 40-energy runs, while more experienced players can commit 200 energy at a time.

Juice Connects Gameplay and Economy

Juice is particularly relevant during The Awakening because it allows players to push beyond the normal energy restrictions.

That creates a direct connection between gameplay and the event's economy. Players who want additional activity can purchase juice, while half of those purchases contribute to the prize pool.

This means a busy event can potentially become more rewarding as participation increases.

The system also gives the Gigaverse economy a practical purpose rather than treating its marketplace simply as a place to trade collectibles.

Giga ROMs Add Another Layer

Above the free-to-play experience sit Giga ROM NFTs, which provide additional benefits such as daily energy boosts and weekly claims for rare resources.

Different ROM rarities offer different levels of utility, creating another layer for players who want to engage more deeply with the ecosystem.

Trading takes place through the Gigamarket, with transactions supported through GIGABIT and ETH. The Trade Port also handles on-chain asset transfers across Abstract.

These systems demonstrate how Gigaverse combines conventional game progression with blockchain ownership without making NFTs the only way to participate.

Gigaverse Is Building Beyond One Game

The studio has also taken an unusually open approach to development.

An open API is already available without authentication keys, while a broader platform API remains on the roadmap. An Agent API also allows AI systems to interact directly with the game.

That experimentation extends to Gigling Racing, a fully on-chain pet racing game launched in 2026. Its game logic lives in smart contracts, while race results are recorded through a Race Oracle. The title also supports independent interfaces and automated agents.

Meanwhile, ROMs 2.0 remains in development. The team has yet to fully explain how the new system will work or precisely how existing ROM assets will be handled.

A Fresh Start With More at Stake

The second run of The Awakening gives Gigaverse players a clean competitive slate and a considerably stronger incentive to participate.

The leaderboard has been reset, the bug has been fixed and the seeded prize pool has jumped to $30,000. More importantly, that figure can continue growing through juice purchases and Gigamarket fees.

With Gigaverse Online approaching, The Awakening is also more than another limited-time competition. It represents a bridge between the game's current era and its upcoming open-world future.

For collectors and competitive players alike, the restarted event could be one of the more important opportunities in the Gigaverse ecosystem before that transition happens. And with the prize pool already starting $10,000 higher than before, the second awakening begins with considerably more momentum.
