The biggest update in DeFi Dungeons history has arrived — and it’s massive. The long-awaited Raids feature is now live, introducing intense multi-boss encounters, new team-based mechanics, and some of the rarest rewards ever seen in the Solana-powered idle RPG.
Let’s dive into what makes Raids the most ambitious update yet and why it’s changing how players approach strategy, risk, and rewards in one of the most talked-about blockchain games.
A New Era Begins in Nightvale
Nightvale, the fantasy world at the heart of DeFi Dungeons, has always been filled with mystery and challenge. But with Raids, the stakes have never been higher.
Players can now form parties of up to three characters to take on three massive bosses, each battle lasting an epic eight hours. That means strategy, endurance, and planning are more important than ever.
Unlike traditional idle missions, Raids aren’t just about clicking through encounters — they demand thoughtful team composition, resource management, and timing. It’s a fresh challenge for veterans who have already mastered Dungeons and Mythics.
What Are Raids in DeFi Dungeons?
At their core, Raids are multi-stage encounters that push your heroes to their limits. Players start at the Raids Portal in Nightvale, where they can scout upcoming battles, analyze boss stats, and prepare their team setups.
Each player can customize a party of three heroes, drawn from the game’s four main classes:
Warrior – +15 Combat
Marksman – +10 Fortune, +10 Luck
Mage – +5 Damage
Priest – +15 Vitality
Party slots also matter. Slot 1 boosts Vitality, Slot 2 adds Combat, and Slot 3 increases Luck and Fortune — meaning where you place each hero can make or break your run.
And yes, it’s all on-chain. Every stat, item, and action is stored immutably on Solana, bringing transparency and player ownership into the heart of the gameplay.
How Combat Works in Raids
Once the Raid begins, combat unfolds over multiple rounds, each determined by your characters’ Combat stats. If your hero’s Combat score beats the boss’s, they attack first — and might even dodge damage entirely for that round.
Attacks come in two flavors:
Glancing Blows – partial damage.
Full Damage Attacks – unleash your character’s maximum potential.
Bosses, on the other hand, aren’t just hitting back with single strikes. Expect area-of-effect (AoE) attacks, environmental hazards like toxic fog or magical storms, and a brutal endurance test where Vitality-focused builds shine.
Between battles, players can use one potion per hero to heal, boost stats, or restore energy — a crucial decision that often determines survival.
Risk and Reward in the Raids System
Of course, Raids wouldn’t be true to DeFi Dungeons’ name without a bit of risk. The rewards here are some of Nightvale’s rarest treasures, but losing comes with painful consequences.
If a hero’s health drops to zero, players risk triggering negative events, including:
Major Equipment Break – gear damage that costs GOLD or rare materials to fix.
Unique Item Break – permanent loss of rare equipment.
Permanent Death – your NFT hero could be gone forever.
Fortunately, Priests come with a saving grace — literally. They have a 33% chance to prevent death for any ally (including themselves). This mechanic makes Priests indispensable for high-risk Raids, adding another layer of strategy to team composition.
Talents, Loot, and Leaderboards
The Raids update also introduces new Talents for Combat and Vitality, helping players survive longer and hit harder. These Talents, ranging from Tier 1 to Tier 5, include:
Battle Tempered (+5 Combat)
Second Wind (restores health after each boss)
Environmental Armour (reduces environmental damage)
After each Raid, players receive a Battle Report breaking down every round — a perfect tool for analyzing performance and refining strategy.
And for the competitive ones, Phase 2 is coming soon: Raids Leaderboards. Players who defeat all three bosses earn a Raid Score, with top-ranked heroes earning exclusive rewards and community recognition.
Inside the World of DeFi Dungeons
Built by Longwood Labs on the Solana blockchain, DeFi Dungeons is more than just an idle RPG — it’s an evolving on-chain MMORPG that blends gameplay depth with decentralized finance and NFT ownership.
Players can choose between three archetypes:
Adventurers – battle through Dungeons, Mythics, and Raids.
Bankers – earn passive income through $GOLD trades.
Merchants – profit from crafting and forging activities.
Each Hero is an NFT, following the Metaplex standard, and progression involves leveling up, upgrading gear, crafting, and earning in-game GOLD.
Core game systems include:
The Forge – craft and enhance gear tiers.
The Training Ground – boost stats and unlock Talents.
The Tavern & Loot Exchange – stake and manage rewards.
The Marketplace – trade NFT heroes within the game or on Magic Eden.
This blend of idle mechanics and on-chain systems makes DeFi Dungeons one of the most accessible yet strategically deep blockchain games in the space.
Getting Started with DeFi Dungeons
Jumping into the world of Nightvale is easy. New players can sign up using their crypto wallet, Google, or Apple account right from their web browser.
To start your adventure, you’ll need to purchase an NFT Hero, available on the in-game Marketplace or via Magic Eden. Once your hero is ready, you can start exploring Dungeons — or head straight into the Raids if you dare.
