Competitive gaming can be difficult to balance when the price of entry becomes a barrier before players even get a chance to prove their skills. Artyfact has now taken a major step in that direction by slashing the entry price for its Arena Duel mode from 5 USDT to just 1 USDT.

The change, announced on September 15, 2026, follows direct player feedback and arrives only around two weeks after Arena Duel launched. Alongside the cheaper ticket, Artyfact is introducing recommended daily play windows designed to bring more competitors together and improve matchmaking.

For fans following the evolution of blockchain games, the update is an interesting example of how player feedback can quickly influence a competitive Web3 game.

Arena Duel Gets an 80 Percent Price Cut

When Arena Duel launched on August 31, players paid 5 USDT to enter a match. That has now dropped to 1 USDT, representing an 80 percent reduction.

The difference becomes especially noticeable for players who want to play regularly. Ten matches at the old price would require 50 USDT, while ten matches under the new system cost only 10 USDT before considering the platform fee.

That makes experimentation much easier. Players can jump into Arena Duel, test different strategies, and learn from losses without feeling like every defeat carries a significant financial penalty.

More importantly, the cheaper ticket could help the game build a healthier competitive population.

Why the Cheaper Entry Could Improve Matchmaking

A competitive 1v1 mode needs one thing above everything else: opponents.

A high entry fee naturally limits the number of people willing to participate. Players who are highly confident in their skills may be happy to risk 5 USDT, but newcomers or casual players might simply avoid the mode altogether.

At 1 USDT, the psychological and financial barrier is considerably lower.

That could bring more players into the Arena, creating a larger pool of potential opponents. More participants should mean less waiting, more frequent matches, and more opportunities for newer players to gain experience.

This is particularly important for a relatively new mode. Competitive communities need time to develop, and reducing the cost of participation can give that process a boost.

The 10 Percent Fee Goes Toward ARTY Buybacks

The new 1 USDT ticket does not mean Artyfact has removed the economic component from Arena Duel. A 10 percent platform fee remains in place, with the collected fees directed toward ARTY buybacks.

The structure is relatively straightforward. If two players each enter a 1 USDT duel, the total pot reaches 2 USDT. A 10 percent platform fee is then taken, with the remainder going to the winner.

The important part is what happens to that fee. Rather than simply becoming standard platform revenue, Artyfact says the funds are used to purchase ARTY from the market.

This creates a direct connection between Arena activity and the game's token economy.

ARTY Already Has a Buyback and Burn Model

Arena Duel is not introducing the first ARTY buyback mechanism. Artyfact already uses 10 percent of marketplace NFT sales revenue to fund its buyback and burn program.

ARTY also has a fixed supply of 25 million tokens, with no further issuance planned.

Adding Arena fees gives the ecosystem another activity-driven mechanism connected to the token. As more players participate in competitive matches, more fees can potentially flow into ARTY purchases.

For players, however, the immediate appeal remains the gameplay itself. The token mechanics sit underneath the competitive experience rather than requiring players to understand the entire economic model before entering a duel.

Three Daily Arena Play Hours

Artyfact is tackling another problem at the same time: matchmaking.

The studio has recommended three daily Arena Play Hours when players are encouraged to enter the mode:

  • 00:00–02:00 UTC

  • 13:00–15:00 UTC

  • 18:00–20:00 UTC

These are recommendations rather than mandatory schedules. Arena Duel remains available outside these periods.

The idea is simple. Instead of spreading the player base thinly across 24 hours, the community can concentrate its activity into several predictable windows.

That can make a smaller player population feel considerably larger. A player who enters at a quiet time might wait for an opponent, while someone joining during a recommended window is more likely to find an active matchmaking pool.

The three windows also provide coverage across different regions, giving players in the Americas, Europe, and Asia opportunities to find a convenient session.

What Is Artyfact?

Artyfact is a free-to-play action, adventure, and MMORPG hybrid built on BNB Chain. The project combines multiplayer shooting with a broader metaverse featuring virtual spaces, NFT marketplaces, events, and competitive arenas.

Its shooter component includes several familiar multiplayer formats, including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Battle Royale, and Control. Players can also use vehicles, jetpacks, and ranged weapons while battling across its environments.

Arena Duel takes a different approach by reducing the competition to a direct 1v1 encounter.

Players also need to hold at least 1,000 ARTY in an Artyfact wallet to participate, adding a token-based eligibility requirement alongside the USDT ticket.

AI and NFTs Are Part of the Bigger Picture

Artyfact is not positioning itself as simply another blockchain shooter. AI plays a role across multiple areas of the project, including NPCs, content generation, cheat detection, data analysis, testing, and systems designed to model player behavior and preferences.

The metaverse itself is divided into different types of spaces. Urban areas are designed around NFT exhibitions, 3D marketplaces, virtual property, and events, while gaming arenas provide access to competitive activities such as racing, battle royale, and other experiences involving ARTY or NFT stakes.

ARTY also functions as the project's governance and in-game currency, with uses ranging from NFT and battle pass purchases to staking, governance, and battle-related activities.

A More Accessible Arena Could Be a Better Arena

Artyfact's Arena Duel update is ultimately about more than reducing a number from 5 to 1.

An 80 percent price cut can fundamentally change who feels comfortable trying a competitive mode. Combined with scheduled community play windows, the changes address two of the biggest challenges facing a newer competitive game: accessibility and matchmaking.

The new price is already live, while the recommended Arena Play Hours give the community a simple way to coordinate its activity.

If the lower cost succeeds in attracting more players, Arena Duel could become a much more active part of Artyfact's ecosystem—and potentially demonstrate how quickly a Web3 game can adjust when its community speaks up.
