Amiko Legends Ushers in a New Era for Aurory

Amiko Legends

A Fresh Identity for a Familiar World

Aurory has officially rebranded its flagship title, Seekers of Tokane, to Amiko Legends, marking a new chapter in one of the most ambitious blockchain games in development today. Announced on October 31, this change reflects more than just a new name—it’s a signal that Aurory is preparing for the next big evolution in its gaming universe.

While the title and creature names have shifted, the core experience that players have come to enjoy remains intact. Based on the team’s updated whitepaper, Amiko Legends continues to feature the exploration, strategy, and creature-collecting mechanics that defined its predecessor.

Let’s take a closer look at what’s new, what’s stayed the same, and what this rebrand might mean for the future of Aurory.

What Is Amiko Legends?

At its heart, Amiko Legends is a free-to-play, roguelite RPG where players explore procedurally generated worlds, battle enemies, and collect mystical companions called Amikos.

The journey begins in Blanche, a vibrant village that acts as your central hub. From there, players venture into the lands of Tokane to uncover treasure, fight opponents, and face new challenges in every run. The game’s turn-based combat blends tactical decision-making with creature synergy, offering both PvE adventures and PvP competition in the Blitz Battles mode.

Each Amiko—formerly known as Nefties—has its own unique traits, abilities, and elemental affinities. Building a balanced team is key to victory, whether you’re exploring uncharted lands or challenging another player.

What Changed With the Rebrand?

For now, the rebrand is primarily cosmetic. The main shift lies in the naming—Seekers of Tokane is now Amiko Legends, and Nefties are officially Amikos.

Gameplay, world structure, and progression systems remain mostly unchanged. You’ll still start in Blanche, explore procedurally generated environments, and face off in Blitz Battles. Amikos behave just as Nefties did, following the same training and progression paths.

So why the rebrand? It seems Aurory is setting the stage for something larger. The team hinted that this fresh identity will “carry the game into its next phase.” While they haven’t shared specifics, the shift could be laying groundwork for major gameplay or ecosystem updates in the near future.

A Look Back at Aurory’s Origins

Before Amiko Legends, there was Aurory Tactics—a PvP mode that introduced players to the world of Aurory through strategic, turn-based battles featuring Nefties.

The studio itself was co-founded by Yann Penno and Paul Vadillo, who envisioned a JRPG experience where players truly own their digital assets. Built on Solana, Aurory used the $AURY token to create a player-driven economy that rewarded skill and time investment.

As the studio evolved, it transitioned from its PvP roots toward a richer, narrative-driven adventure—Seekers of Tokane, which has now evolved into Amiko Legends. This shift reflects a broader trend among top Web3 RPGs that strive to merge traditional gameplay with blockchain-backed ownership.

Rewards, Tokens, and In-Game Currency

The AURY ecosystem remains the foundation of Amiko Legends’ reward system. Players can earn OKA and TOKE sub-tokens through ranked PvP and land adventures, both of which feed into $AURY payouts.

Here’s how it works:

  • Prime Amikos earn OKA when participating in ranked matches—until their “OKAnergy” runs out.

  • Standard Amikos (or mixed squads) earn TOKE instead.

  • These sub-tokens are then converted into $AURY for real rewards.

There’s also an off-chain currency called Crystals, used for crafting, powering up Amikos, and unlocking event content. You can earn Crystals through both PvE and PvP, even if you lose.

During exploration, you might also find Amiko Eggs—either Prime or Standard—that hatch into new companions. But beware: if your team is defeated mid-run, you lose your loot and return to Blanche empty-handed.

Events, Social Hubs, and Customization

The village of Blanche continues to serve as the social and functional center of the game. Players can meet others, take part in live events, and customize their avatars with cosmetic items purchased or unlocked through gameplay.

Aurory has confirmed that its phased update system will continue under the new title, ensuring a steady stream of content and events. While no brand-new features have been announced since the rebrand, the live service model remains strong.

Customization options remain diverse—outfits, accessories, and more allow players to express their unique style while exploring Tokane.

Community Testing and Early Feedback

Ahead of the rebrand, Aurory hosted a private playtest in London, where 32 players participated in guided sessions. Additionally, over 2,500 players from the US, UK, Japan, and South Korea shared feedback through surveys and focus groups.

The results? Overwhelmingly positive.Players praised the visual style, music, and combat mechanics, highlighting the game’s balance of depth and accessibility. Many also appreciated the new Amiko designs and collectible feel.

That said, some feedback pointed to a need for greater variety in exploration, a point the team has already acknowledged and begun addressing. The studio also noted that mainstream gamers remain cautious about blockchain mechanics, so they’re working to make these systems more seamless and intuitive.

How to Get Started With Amiko Legends

New to Aurory’s world? Getting started is simple:

  1. Create an Aurory account using a social login or connect a Solana wallet (like Phantom) or an EVM wallet (like Metamask).

  2. You’ll receive a free Starter Egg, which hatches into your first off-chain Amiko.

  3. Download the game via the Epic Games Store or Aurory’s portal.

  4. Begin your journey in Blanche, where your adventure truly begins.

From there, you can explore, collect Amikos, and dive into both PvE and PvP gameplay.

What’s Next for Amiko Legends?

The Aurory team will reveal more during their Roundtable AMA on November 7, where fans can expect updates on gameplay improvements, future content, and how the rebrand ties into upcoming features.

For now, Amiko Legends is carrying the torch forward—refining the best parts of Seekers of Tokane while hinting at even greater things to come.

As one of the standout projects in the growing universe of blockchain games, it’s safe to say the adventure in Tokane is far from over.
