Aavegotchi’s most popular event is back, and this time it’s bigger than ever. Season 11 of Rarity Farming has officially kicked off, offering 1.5 million GHST (worth around $690,000) in rewards. What makes this season stand out is that it’s the first to run entirely on Base, opening up faster, cheaper, and smoother gameplay for everyone.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to jump into the Gotchiverse, this might be it. Let’s break down everything you need to know about the new season, from prize pools and leaderboards to the Base migration and upcoming Gotchi Battler tournaments.
What Makes Season 11 Special
Rarity Farming has always been at the heart of Aavegotchi, rewarding players who nurture, equip, and engage with their digital pets. But Season 11 represents a turning point. For the first time, the entire event is hosted on Base, Coinbase’s Ethereum L2 network.
This shift means:
Lower gas fees for players.
Faster transactions.
Easier onboarding for new community members.
On top of that, AavegotchiDAO has committed 3 million GHST for two back-to-back seasons, with Season 12 already confirmed for later this year. That’s a serious prize pool for the Gotchi faithful.
How the Prize Pool Works
Season 11 brings a massive 1.5 million GHST prize pool, split across four two-week rounds. Each round ends with a snapshot that locks in leaderboard standings, and rewards are distributed immediately after.
Here’s how the allocation breaks down:
50% for Rarity Score
20% for Kinship
10% for XP
20% for Gotchi Battler (launching after the main season)
That means whether you’re optimizing traits, bonding daily, or staying active in the community, there are plenty of ways to earn.
Key Snapshot Dates
If you want to cash in, you’ll need to mark these dates on your calendar. Snapshots happen at 2:00 PM UTC on:
September 8, 2025
September 22, 2025
October 6, 2025
October 20, 2025
Each snapshot is essentially a checkpoint. Your Gotchi’s rank at the time determines your rewards for that round.
Who Can Join Rarity Farming
The beauty of Aavegotchi is that you don’t need to own a Gotchi to participate. Thanks to the lending system, newcomers can borrow a Gotchi and share in the rewards.
For those climbing the ranks directly, here’s what you need to know:
Top 7,500 Gotchis qualify for each leaderboard.
Base players now have full access to all rewards (Rarity, Kinship, and XP).
Every two weeks is a new shot at GHST.
This setup makes Aavegotchi one of the most open and engaging blockchain games out there.
How the Leaderboards Work
Season 11 includes three main leaderboards, each rewarding a different type of playstyle:
Rarity Farming
This leaderboard is all about Base Rarity Score (BRS). You’ll need to equip Wearables, optimize traits, and level up your Gotchi. Half the entire prize pool is dedicated to rarity, making it the most competitive category.
Kinship
Kinship tracks how much love you show your Gotchi. Pet it twice a day to raise its score, use potions to boost it, and avoid missing check-ins. This is the leaderboard for players who enjoy daily interaction.
XP
XP rewards community activity. Voting in DAO proposals, attending calls, and playing new minigames like Gotchi Guardians all boost your XP. Even if your Gotchi isn’t rare or maxed out, you can still climb the XP ranks by staying active.
What About Gotchi Battler
Once Season 11 wraps up, attention will shift to Gotchi Battler, Aavegotchi’s auto-battler. With 300,000 GHST in rewards, it adds another dimension to the ecosystem.
Players form teams of 5 Gotchis and compete in double-elimination tournaments. Your squad’s onchain traits determine performance, making strategy and lineup composition critical. Don’t own 5 Gotchis? No problem—you can borrow extras through the lending system.
Migration to Base
Season 11 also highlights the biggest structural change for Aavegotchi in years. Back in April, the DAO voted with 93.5% approval to migrate the entire ecosystem from Polygon to Base.
Here’s what that means:
All contracts on Polygon are now frozen.
Every Gotchi, Wearable, and land parcel is being re-minted on Base.
The old L3 chain, Geist, has been retired.
This move consolidates Aavegotchi onto a single, Coinbase-backed chain, making the experience simpler and more scalable. It also sets the stage for broader adoption, as Base continues to grow within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Can You Still Join Season 11
Yes, and there’s still plenty of time. The season began on August 25, 2025, but the first snapshot isn’t until September 8. That gives new players almost two weeks to:
Get a Gotchi (or borrow one).
Equip it with Wearables.
Start petting and engaging daily.
Since rewards are distributed after every snapshot, even late joiners have a real chance to earn.
Why Season 11 Matters
With over $690K in rewards on the line and another 1.5 million GHST locked in for Season 12, Rarity Farming is proving why Aavegotchi remains one of the most enduring play-to-earn ecosystems in Web3.
Whether you’re optimizing traits, bonding daily, or joining community events, there’s a leaderboard for you. Add in the smooth migration to Base, and Aavegotchi looks more accessible—and competitive—than ever.
So, if you’ve been on the fence, now’s the time. Suit up your Gotchis, mark those snapshot dates, and let the farming begin.
